St. Kilda and St. Kilda Botanical Gardens

A well-kept secret in inner suburban Melbourne containing a microcosm of Australian, and overseas, trees and shrubs. There's lots of chairs and grass to sit down on, a Rose Garden, an ornamental lake containing "The Rain Man" and a Conservatory with warmer climate plants that require protection against the chilly Melbourne winter.

Despite its inner suburban location there have been a surprising number of birds observed there.
