Xi'an

Xi'an, the capital of Shaanxi Province, is a bustling city of over 8 million people has lots to interest the tourist - Pagodas, the world-famous Terracotta Warriors, City Wall, Muslim Quarter and much more. It is the only city in China with a complete enclosing wall.

The Little Wild Goose Pagoda as seen from the Rose Garden. It lost its top stories during an earthquake many years ago.

The Terracotta Warriors, a famous attraction on the outskirts of Xi'an. Thousands of life-sized figures guarding the tomb of Emporer Qin Shi Huang lay broken and buried for 2000 years before being discovered during the digging of a well in 1974. Here's a close-up (note broken figures in background).

Modern Terracotta Warrior replicas on display.
