Comet Tempel2

An image of Comet Tempel2 amongst the stars of Cetus, captured at Heathcote, Victoria, on October 2 2010. The greenish coma, star-like nucleus and a thin dust trail, extending from middle left to middle right of the field, are clearly visible.

Imaged through a Takahashi TOA130 refractor with f/5.6 focal reducer (effective focal length = 730mm) on a Takahashi EM-200 Temma2 mount; SBIG11000M camera, LRGB 10:10:10:10min for total exposure 40mins (more luminance data would definitely have been useful!). North is up. Fov approximately 170x120 arcmin. Raw frames processed in CCDStack and colour processing in Photoshop CS5.
